After winning the Pitching Sessions at Reboot Develop 2017, Second Hand: Frankie’s Revenge took home another trophy at the same conference this year, winning the Nordic Game Discovery Contest qualifier. This means Rikodu will be travelling to Malmö, Sweden to take part in the Grand Finals of the competition, during the Nordic Game 2018 event on May 23-25. They will be joined there by the winners of the Dev.Play 2017 qualifier, local studio Breadcrumbs Interactive with their roleplaying folktale Yaga.
Second Hand: Frankie’s Revenge is set to be released on Steam this Fall, with console versions coming up sometime next year. Rikodu’s title wasn’t the only Romanian game taking part in this NGDC qualifier, with Unbound: Worlds Apart also pitching to the jury of industry experts. Backstage talks were placing Alien Pixel‘s game as the runner-up, which again highlights the Romanian industry is quite capable of creating well regarded indie titles.
